What is CBT/CCBT?

CBT is short for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. It’s an evidence based approach for dealing with psychological problems. It looks at how we interact with our surroundings and how this affects our thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and behaviour. CBT teaches tried and tested techniques to challenge depression.

CCBT is short for Computer-aided/delivered Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and has many added benefits.

Is CCBT effective?

Yes. Extensive research has found that CBT/CCBT is effective for the alleviation of many problems such as:

  • Anxiety & panic disorders
  • Phobias (e.g. agoraphobia, social phobia, specific phobia)
  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder
  • Post traumatic stress disorder
  • Depression

What is OCFighter™?

OCFighter™ is an online program for Obsessive Compulsive disorder (OCD). It uses the evidence based approach known as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, or CBT for short. The program teaches the best practice CBT technique to help with OCD called Exposure with Ritual Prevention (ERP). You can print out worksheets for activities, monitor your own progress, receive emails with further tips at the end of each step. Most sessions last about 30/40 minutes.

OCFighter™ is made up of 9 steps. The program consists of real life cases of people who have suffered from OCD and gives access to downloadable resources you can keep.

Has OCFighter™ been clinically proven to be effective?

OCFighter™ is derived from research by Professors Baer, Greist, and Marks. Their research showed how computerised therapy was effective in reducing the amount of time spent on obsessions and rituals as much as clinician led therapy. This research involved RCT’s in the US and the UK. One study possibly had the largest sample size recruited in any computerised therapy (218 people). 7 other published papers include the research by Professors Baer, Greist, and Marks.

How do I sign up for OCFighter™?

Select the membership you’d prefer from the Purchase page, if you are buying directly. You will be emailed a username and password to log in to the program and can begin as soon as you login.

If you’re obtaining the program through your healthcare provider, they will be sending you an email with your username and password.

How do I login to OCFighter™ for the first time?

You can sign in by clicking “Login” in the top right corner or by following This Link. The first time you signin, you will be prompted to change your password. Be sure to keep these in a safe place. If you lose your password, you can email us at customerservice@ccbtmail.com to have it reset.

What should I do if I forget my password?

For security purposes, you will need to contact your support worker. You may also email us at customerservice@ccbtmail.com for assistance.
